Treatment-for-Tension-Headaches-Gilbert-AZ
Headaches come in many shapes and sizes, and tend to be different for each person that has one. One of the more common headaches we see in our clinic is a tension headache. Tension headache is a general term for a headache that feels like a dull ache that wraps around the head, starting from the base of the skull and ending if the forehead and behind the eyes. The reason Chiropractic clinics tend to see a lot of these headaches is because they tend to go hand in hand with neck pain, something we see on a daily basis. The tightness and stiffness associated with chronic neck pain can often cause, or be congruent with these headaches, and treating neck and suboccipital pain often helps to decrease and prevent tension-type headaches.
Some of the treatments we utilize to treat tension headaches include massage therapy, electric stimulation, graston technique, physical therapy exercises and stretches, and low-level laser therapy, as well as traditional chiropractic adjustments. all of these modalities combine to decrease pain and inflammation in the neck and occipital region, leading to decreased tesion headaches for a majority of the patients presenting with this particular type of headache.
